It was about time for home, children were going home in lines.The city was very tranquil. In a city where everyone follows the rules, a 15-year-old girl, name Julia Richard breaks them to follow her adventure. She was living with her father's sister. Her aunt runs an orphanage. An enormous white building. Many kids lived in that area but no one ever thought of the mysterious place they were living in. One day Julia and her two friends, Mike and Emily, both orphans decided to go out and find out whats on the other side of that enigmatic gate which is located at the end of the city. The forbidden place was hemmed in by a large wall, all they knew was that their city has surrounded an other city to which they are not permitted to enter. It was a frigid and windy night. they all huddled in the garden that was located in the center of the orphanage. The garden was their spot where they used to meet everyday for a private chat. As they all came and sat on a cold wet grass, Julia told her friends to examine whats behind the gate on Friday after school, Mike was anxious because he was afraid if someone finds out about them going near the gate. But Julia and Emily always loved the adventure. On Friday while they were about to leave, Mike decided to stay behind. Julia and Emily agreed on Mike's decision. They hugged each other and started their journey inaudibly from the back of their orphanage, because that path leads them towards the gate. Mike told them if Julia's aunt asks where Emily and Julia are then he should have some good excuse to tell her. As they walked away 200 meters from the house they heard a lady shouting "come back, don't go that way. Its forbidden" and captures the boy but the girls ran fast without looking back.
The lady calls the police and report them about the girls, As Julia and Emily reach near the gate, there they see many guards, more then 30 marching in lines in front of the gate, They both got frightened.
"What now?" Emily asks "there is no space between the guards. How are we going to pass that gate without being noticed?"
They hide behind a wall next to the plants for a while to see if the guards leave or not. But the guards were too many to empty the space.
"we have to go the other way around" Julia says quietly and grabs Emily's arm and enters an office that is beside the gate. There they find too many army officers standing in the hallway. Emily tells Julia to look down and keep walking. The girls silently pass the hallway full of army officers, with their heads down and holding hands. They were all middle aged men, busy in their conversation. The girls go inside a room to hide. They were stunned to find many drunk people in that room gambling in circle, and few sleeping on the couch. Julia take some money from the middle of drunken people playing cards, but they don't say anything because they were not in their senses. It was almost like they can't even see them. Emily keep standing there of a shock and asks Julia "Why there are drunk people playing closer to the gate?"
"I don't know, but lets just get outta here"
"I am scared." Emily replied with wet eyes.
While Julia was taking the money from the drunk people, she forgot about Emily that she was not following her. Julia runs and grabs anything she could, she grabs a tablet form one group of drunk people, some money from two more groups of drunk people sitting in circle and gets out from the back door of that room without looking back.
That door leads her in front of the gate. Just few step away. She hides next to the plants which is with that room's window on right and guards on left. The windows were shut, She looks back to find Emily but she cant find her. She calls her name slowly through the window but she don't happen to be answering her at all.
The place was more like a lawn and in front of that was a rotten metal gate which was chained up and locked with a little bit of space between them for Julia to pass through easily. the guards were guarding the big gate but they weren't guarding the rotten gate. Even though there weren't any guards in front of that gate Emily still couldn't pass the path without her being noticed. She looks at a police officer standing on the left side of the lawn. facing towards the guards. The main gate area, where the guards were marching was 3 foot high ground so she thought to stoop and run behind the police officer while he's looking away. She waits for him to move or turn his face straight so she can go behind him but he was continuously looking on left and right hunting for Julia. Abruptly she hears a voice of some girl from that window "she went that way"
Julia recognize the voice, its the girl from her aunt's orphan house. Whom she hates a lot, she is always spying on Julia.
Julia move forward while in a stooping position towards that metal gate behind that police officer whose standing in the middle next to the wall facing away. She conceal in the corner, 1 foot away from the gate and glance at the officer next to the wall. She waits for him to turn the other way around so she can cross the gate, the officer with the wall was talking to another officer to his right suddenly the man glimpse behind second police officer and finds Julia hiding by the gate,
"Hey kid!" the police officer shouts "What are you doing here?" and tells Julia not to move.
Julia sees that every guard is running towards her. she suddenly goes outside the gate from that space as the police officer tries to reach her. He miss her for a second to hold her arm.
It was very shocking for Julia to find out what's on the other side of the gate. It was almost like it stopped raining a minute ago but as far as she can remember it didn't rain in the city for a week. the weather was quiet wet, cloudy and cold, she was wearing a gray sweatshirt with blue jeans along with pair of short black boots. She felt very cold without a coat. Outside the gate was a creepy place. In front of her was many abandoned shops in a row to the right and a gigantic wall to the left. The shops were covered in dark and mist, it was all like she was looking at colorless place. She stands outside the gate to think where to go. Either to walk on the road or to enter the shops. Suddenly she sees many guards coming out of the main gate to her left, all covered in masks and armed suits and says "catch her before she enters that place."
The way the guard says makes Julia more skeptical and she flee towards the shop and enters that area. She feel dizzy as she enters and find some kids to her right, sitting in dark on old school chairs by the wall. A kid with knife stabbed in his chest comes in front of Julia, she screams and falls on the chairs which are placed by the left side wall. She stands up and keep running forward. While running, she sees a girl telling her "grab my hand and take me with you, please." They all acted weird, as if they were unconscious.
She grabs that girl's hand and runs as fast as she could to find an exit. To the end of the shop Julia looks at a school lunch lady cooking in the dark to the right corner in that shop. She looks behind at Julia eerily and uncannily.
As she crosses the shop, she finds herself in a cold, cloudy and wet place. Its more like shes is somewhere in old times. People were poor and sick everywhere, sitting by the road side. The road was of mud with kids playing with wooden toys. She was holding that girl's hand who she took out from that shop along with her. Suddenly an old man with a trolley comes in front of Julia and stands there to sell things. It was kind of an old toy stall, with some umbrellas hanging on top and some candies placed on the trolley. They both stand quietly next to the trolley stall, while Julia stares at an umbrella to buy it because she thought it will rain eventually so she needed an umbrella before she move forward.
